For
a most special day in your couple's life, getting married
and having your reception here will be a wonderful experience.
Many romantic weddings / receptions have occurred here over the
years, with each being a special & unique occasion
for the couples involved. To get you started in thinking of what
you want your day to be,
let me ask you these questions.

Are you wanting a formal
or informal event? We have done both,
though informal has won hands down. Nice casual attire, and a blue
jeans, boots, and hats attire fit our setting well.
Outside or Indoors ...? Outside
is a popular choice for the summer months. There are several locations
on the river to hold the ceremony. The romantic wedding reception
is on the grounds close to the lodge. A tent is provided in case
of rain. Set up includes tables, chairs, center pieces, and place
settings. An Indoor event begins with the ceremony in front of
the river-rock fireplace in the lodge. The dining room next door
is set up and ready for the reception to follow. Some have chosen
to be married in a church (Cody or Cooke City) and return to the
ranch for the reception. Also, a combination of an outside romantic
wedding and indoor reception works well.
How many guests are expected? We have had weddings from 11 people
to 170. However, around a hundred or less is an ideal number for
our facilities.
Are there items you want
to take care of yourselves, for example the music or the officiate? You may have a family member you want
to perform a duty. We can also give suggestions of local talent,
clergy, and justice of the peace.
What type of menu, drinks,
and wedding cake you want served? Menus have ranged from
buffet style cold cuts and cheese platters, finger foods, etc.
to a sit down formal menu of stuffed Cornish Game Hens and all
the fixings. Wedding cakes are the traditional, however, one
request was for cheese cakes (which they provided) ; another,
for canolis (which I made from their recipe). Arrangements
can be made with an excellent local cake baker for that beautiful
and delicious cake. You can provide your own alcohol, or we can
get it in for you. Most often served are selections of champagne,
wine, and beer. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be provided. Dietary
restrictions, allergies, and vegetarians can be accommodated.
Do you want flowers from
a local city florist (Cody suggested), or wildflowers picked
in the area? Some times a combination has
been worked out, for example wildflowers for the tables, and the
bouquet etc. from the florist.
How long you are interested
in staying at the ranch? This could
mean a few nights to a week or more. I do suggest reservations
cover the day after. Many are not too comfortable awaking to catch
an early morning flight. Also, any day of the week is just fine
for these special occasions. Saturday is traditional, but Fridays
and Thursdays have worked to some advantage for scheduling time
and flights.
Special requests
are considered as well. As an example, one wedding
party provided me with all the recipes they wanted served - one,
in particular has become a ranch favorite. Another special request
was for the bride, her mother, and grandmother
arrange the wildflowers we picked. They set this quiet time aside
just for them.

Testimonial: "The
Burwell families have enjoyed reunions at Hunter Peak Ranch since
1981. In 2006, we had 26 family members spanning 4 generations
from 9 different states. We always have a great time and plan to
continue meeting there for future reunions. The facilities, food,
and scenery are unbeatable and the friendly, personal attention of
the Cary family and staff can't be beat. Thanks for so many years
of good times and fond memories." The Burwell Clan

are many reasons we enjoy Hunter Peak Ranch...Hunter Peak Ranch

Reunions
are great get to-gathers for families scattered from everywhere.
Meeting here is a wonderful location for several reasons. This
ranch and the area offer great recreational opportunities; fishing,
hiking, riding, just to name a few.
Yellowstone Park is nearby. Cody and
Red Lodge are each an hour's drive with such gorgeous scenery along
the way.
And, the ranch has the flexibility and affordability to
meet member's schedules and budgets.
Our accommodations
are set up to handle groups very well. Most are two bedroom suites
with a loft bedroom. The large, five-bedroom suite is a super
gathering place for reunion members. Two Cabins round out the
sleeping options. We are set up to handle up to 45 people. For
reunions and groups over that number, arrangements can be made
with local private cabin owners and other commercial operators
in the immediate area.
You are welcome to come into the lodge dining room
for any, some, or all of your meals during your stay. Large group
meal reservations need to be made 30 days before arrival. Special
dietary requests should be made at that time. Accommodations have
kitchens providing for flexible eating arrangements.
You are welcome to use the front room of the lodge
as a central gathering location. Conversing around the fireplace
in the evening is a pleasant way to reconnect with your family &
friends. The next room has a ping pong table,
books, puzzles, and the like. The grounds offer picnic tables and
benches for your use. Lawn games include croquet, volleyball, and
horseshoes. Feel free to bring games of you own to enjoy.

Reunion Planning Questions:
• How many are planning to attend?
We have had reunions of a few people to sixty
people.
• How long of stay do you want?
As pricing is flexible, your reservations can
be for days, a week, or longer.
• Want to make meal reservations?
Some reunions have all their meals,
a few none, and most reserve dinners.
• How do you want to handle the finances?
It can be done with individuals of the reunion making their own reservations
or one person can be in charge and handle everything with us.
Special requests are considered as well. As an example: one reunion
displayed family memorabilia in the front room for all to look over
at their leisure.
• Birthdays (return

We celebrate them every year. For your
next one, come to the mountains. Bring your family and friends. Spending
the day engaged doing your favorite activity, and enjoying a scrumptious
cake and ice cream following dinner of your favorites, makes for
a very nice day.
• Romantic
Anniversaries (return

Want romance on your anniversary? Our
Ghost Creek and Cedar Mtn. cabins, nestled in tall pines close to
the river, offer the privacy couples are looking for when celebrating
their special day of the year. Both have wood burning stoves for
that warm cozy feeling in the evening. Dinner can be delivered to
your cabin or be set up on the river bank. We invite you to bring
your favorite items to set the mood - candles, chocolates, wine,
flowers... If you have any other requests, please let us know when
you make your reservation.
